A DAY'S WORK

On 1.1.2009, I went to one of the banks to get demand draft to pay my college fees. I entered the bank around 10 AM when there were only 15 customers. After paying the cash, when I gave the remittance challan to one of the clerks, it took nearly 2 hours for him to give the demand draft. I really got frustrated with the delay made by him. As we all know, to type a demand draft it will take only around 20 minutes, but that clerk was sitting idle, wasted his own time and also my time. If the bank staff are like this, then the bank will be losing its customers, whereas the bank staff will not get affected. If this is how a citizen or a unit (bank) works, then there is question mark towards our country's progress. All of us should think about this and work towards our potential.

Regards,
Sri Ganesh

  1. A Good one to bring forward...u said that their negligence towards their work wont effect them but don't forget that the reputation of the bank will definitely get effected , which is surely bound to reflect on them... and i also want to suggest that u as a customer should have taken steps to push him and should have questioned him whether the delay is acceptable or not ...remember u shouldn't loose ur customer Right, although u had controlled yourself and tried to maintain Ur dignity ...but many times we do hesitate to come forward and question..A good test of character for u dude! You know once it took me 5 hours to get a DD but the reason was acceptable( the machine got repaired in between after my DD was processed into computer)....

  2. Sri good post yaar. I am reminded of the incident where the bank officer was adding the totals. When the clock struck 5 o clock he abruptly closed the work for tomorrow. Almost bank officials are so lethargic and lazy to mind customers'preference
